Analog photography, with its timeless appeal and captivating authenticity, allows me to dive into the depths of my deep connection with the sea. It is an art form that goes beyond simple visual representation, remaining a vessel through which I can embody the very essence of my life’s journey intertwined with the vastness of the ocean.
The sea holds a special place in my heart, after which it has been an integral part of my creation. I have an expensive house by the sea where countless memories are woven into the fabric of time. It was within its walls that my children took their first steps, and where the ebb and flow became the soundtrack of our lives. The sea, with its ever-changing moods, has become an extension of my being, a constant presence that accompanies me wherever I travel.
Capturing the sea on film means embarking on a quest to transcribe its boundless power and calmness in a single frame. Analog photography allows me to immerse myself in the mystery of film and the painstaking process of manual printing, ensuring that the skin image is created with the utmost care and intentionality. It is through this scrupulous process that I want to convey to the viewer a deep contemplation of the water element.
There is a hidden message in the depths of the sea, the invitations explore the captured moments that reflect the interaction between the human environment and the vast expanse of the ocean. The viewer is invited to feel the sea as an integral part of their own journey, to immerse themselves in the footage, and reveal the emotions hidden under the surface.
Analog photography, as a true form of art, goes beyond ordinary visual documentation. It allows us to delve into the realm of emotions and personal connections, where the boundaries between the artist and his subject blur. Through my lens, I invite you to join me on this journey, breathe in the sea air and embrace the beauty revealed in every grain of silver on film.
As you begin this visual exploration, I subtly invite you to own a piece of this enraptured essence. Each photograph contains a story, a reflection of our shared connection with the sea. I hope these images find a special place in your heart, a tangible reminder of the immense beauty of our natural world.
Analog photography is a testament to the enduring power of art and the deep connections we create with the world around us. Let the sea become part of your own narrative as you embark on this visual odyssey where the spirit of analog photography is recreated from the depths of your soul.
Who am I? An artist, an icon painter, a jeweler, a photographer, a contemplator of beauty or a co-creator to the Creator?
As a child, my father took me with him to the development room with a dim red light, and I watched the mystery when the invisible became apparent and turned into a story. This extraordinary transition has accompanied me all my life. When I learned oil painting, egg tempera or melted metal, the memory of analog photography appeared in me. On the day when I turned 50, the war began, and I was again, as in childhood, in a dark room. Tape. Development. Print. Native smell. A new story is born through the red light, giving hope and leading to peace and love.
Always with love to you, priest, eternal punk, Abbot Aurora.
